KISS SYMPHONY Tickets Go On Sale, Promoter Assures Fans Show Will Go On
October 29, 2002Internet bookings for the Kiss Symphony show on Feb. 28 went on sale yesterday at midday and caused the server at ticketmaster7 to crash due to overload, according to Australia's Undercover. The site was out of action for 40 minutes. Over-the-counter sales start this Friday.
The show will be able to be watched globally on pay-per-view. Kiss Symphony will be filmed and recorded by acclaimed US director Jonathon Beswick at the helm. Beswick directed the last KISS pay-per-view concert and is currently on the road filming a documentary with THE WHO.
Despite Paul McCartney's reasons for cancelling his Australian tour, promoter Andrew McManus has stressed that Kiss Symphony will "absolutely 100% happen". While in Melbourne last week for the event's media conference, KISS announced that a substantial sum from the concert proceeds would go to Red Cross to aid the victims and families of the Bali tragedy. Gene Simmons also took part in the Seven Network Bali telethon.
Paul Stanley spoke to Undercover. "The whole purpose of terrorism is to stop us from enjoying our freedom" he said. "Once we get over the horror and the shock of being violated then we have to dust ourselves off and go 'you know something we are free'. Let's celebrate our freedom, otherwise we are giving in to exactly what the terrorists want us to do. I think we need to deal with those people in a very straight ahead away and I think this is one of those wake-up calls to people as far as this hitting home in a way that is most unfortunate. Mt sympathy and my heart goes out to everyone and we can't allow people to do that to us or our families or our friends or the people we love".
